Char

My name is char. I am a 15 year old british girl who likes to web design and photograph, as well as playing the clarinet/sax/piano and maplestory. (maple ign is raindrop on ems if ya'd like to know). I hate hackers/liars/fakers and people who just generally put my back up.

Nr Layout 2

This NR layout style will cover cut out NR. These tutorials are written using psp7, however will be transferable to other programs.

Stage 1

Firstly, find yourself a nice image containing 1 main character. I will be using:

Next, open it up in your image program and gnab your lassoo tool. right click on the toolbar and pick "tool options". Change "selection type" to "Smart Edge", and now we can begin, mwahahaha. -cough cough-.
It is slightly obv. to the not so dumb that what you will be doing next is to select your character using this tool. The tool magnetizes to lines, but it is still advisable to click every so often. It doesn't matter if your line is not perfect because well. it just doesn't matter. Anyway, I don't think I need much more explanation than that.
Once you have selected the character, go Selection -> modify -> expand and enter 5. Then press ctrl and H and enter around about 40. Now you can either copy this selection to a new image, or press ctrl shift and i to invert the selection. Press delete and then perhaps duplicate the layer to make the edges more solid.

Stage 2

Stage 2 again, is special effects. These are mostly up to you.
Some simple things to do are duplicating the base and setting the layer mode to "overlay". Once you are happy fill in the background with any colour you wish. The rest is up to you!
Mine turned out like this, which is a past userlookup of mine:
